Technology, Art, Humanities
Each holds a piece of the future — TAH Centre brings them together
to build futures worth living in.
We create an ecosystem where disciplines collaborate as equals for innovations that are technically sound, culturally meaningful, and socially responsible.
Impact-driven collaboration is a necessity
Technology alone isn’t enough. AI, robotics, and quantum computing are reshaping society – but without arts, humanities, and social sciences actively involved, innovation risks losing sight of human needs and values. The problem isn’t the disciplines themselves, but innovation systems that keep them apart.
“The TAH Centre is a timely initiative that underscores the essential integration of technology, arts, and humanities as pillars for advancing creativity and innovation. The TAH Centre provides a framework that inspires individuals to thrive in a dynamic creative economy. This forward-thinking vision ensures that technology serves humanity’s diverse and evolving needs.”

WHY NOW
Knowledge and Creativity Define 21st Century Capacity
The Challenge:
Imagination, creativity, and knowledge can solve our greatest challenges – but only when they connect across disciplines. Too often, our systems keep them apart.
The Shift:
As technologies like AI, robotics, and quantum computing reshape our world, connecting creative, humanistic, and social science perspectives is no longer optional – it’s a necessity.
Our Role:
TAH connects the dots. We cultivate collaboration where it flows most naturally – in educational, cultural and academic systems – and turn it into impactful innovations.
WHO WE ARE
TAH Centre was established in 2024 as an association and research organization facilitating impact-driven inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration for responsible futures. We function as infrastructure, building methodologies and frameworks that enable collaboration. We operate as a network, connecting institutions and individuals across research, arts, and innovation sectors. And we serve as a third space – neutral ground where technology, arts, and humanities meet as equals, outside traditional institutional hierarchies and sectoral boundaries.
Our key differentiator is the equal integration of three components:
Technologies (AI, VR, NFT, robotics, cybernetics, software)
Arts (design, performing arts, visual arts, literature)
Humanities & Social Sciences (philosophy, ethics, history, sociology, law, pedagogy, economy)
Our approach
We operate through research, education, policy influence, and community building.
Network with TAH-close institutions and communities and discover why interdisciplinary collaboration creates more robust, socially responsible and economically sustainable AI solutions.
Connecting 60+ institutions. Our growing network spans universities, research institutes, arts organizations, creative studios, NGOs, and innovation centers.
Equipping professionals. TAH Impact Academy and custom programs develop competencies for addressing tomorrow’s challenges through technology, creativity, and responsibility.
Facilitating informed policy. We integrate evidence from technology, arts, and humanities – perspectives essential for human flourishing yet rarely combined in policymaking.
Our values
TAH honours cultural values rooted in regions and places while building methodologies relevant globally. Our approach isn’t just for Europe – it’s designed for wherever technology, culture, and society intersect.
Responsibility
Impact-driven futures, not tech for tech’s sake
Openness
Ideas exchanged freely, not guarded in silos
Equity
All knowledge matters equally, not hierarchies of expertise
Innovation
Knowledge becomes action, not theory stuck in journals
Sustainability
Generational thinking, not financial quarters
These values are grounded in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Article 27), which enshrines the right to cultural life and the benefits of scientific progress. Innovation’s success cannot be measured solely by material indicators – it must contribute to human dignity, culture, and social development.
OUR STORY
The Beginning
TAH Centre’s activities began in spring 2023, when a group of experts from artistic and research communities recognized the need to systematically deepen relationships between technology, arts, and humanities – integrating them into artistic practice, research policy, innovation activities, and the creative economy.
Building the Foundation
In August 2024, TAH Centre was formally established as a registered association by 20 individuals from renowned institutions – representing diverse disciplines, sectors, and career positions. This diversity reflects our core belief: bringing together different perspectives – from junior researchers to senior leaders, from academia to practice – is essential for transformative change.
Our network spans regions and cultural contexts, united by commitment to ensuring technological progress respects local knowledge while addressing global challenges.
The Name
The name “TAH” works on two levels: it stands for Technology, Arts, Humanities – but in Czech, “tah” also carries deeper meanings that reflect our mission:
- A strategic move in chess – using reason and foresight to navigate complexity toward meaningful outcomes
- The stroke of a paintbrush – embracing cultural values, creativity, and the courage to take risks that lead to breakthrough innovations
- The stage machinery in theater – raising horizons, expanding what’s possible, and revealing new futures
- The act of pulling forward – continuous progress through collective effort and collaboration
These meanings capture TAH Centre’s approach: strategic, bold, visionary, and collaborative.
